“Kieran Szifris’ Monster Ceilidh Band school workshops are wonderful. The children are fully engaged in something which gets their minds and bodies working while also encouraging collaboration. The impact on their musical knowledge, cultural heritage, teamwork and health is immense. It is truly cross curricular in its approach and ultimately makes them happier, more connected humans.”

Introducing music to kids through ceilidh dance – monsterously! Ceilidh Monsters offers an authentic, high-energy experience that combines live folk music performance, ceilidh dance, and an exploration of regional musical history – perfect for inspiring students and enhancing their musical education.
The workshops can be one off introductions or year long projects for the whole school culminating in an end of year spectacular where Monster Ceilidh Band actually performs live for a real live ceilidh!
The Ceilidh Workshops help children build musical understanding and confidence, and enjoy an energetic, inclusive experience that supports Music, PE, local heritage and cultural enrichment.

“Children had the opportunity to hear high quality live music from a range of genres and were encouraged to discuss what they heard using musical vocabulary. Pupils were led through a clear, progressive series of dance steps in order to perform a ceilidh together which they clearly enjoyed. It was a good balance of listening, moving and conversation.”
